IBexNews - Nick Gordon, the ex-boyfriend of late reality TV star Bobbi Kristina Brown, died Wednesday. He was 30.

Gordon’s brother, Jack Walker Jr., told People magazine in a statement the cause of death was a drug overdose.

“We are devastated by the loss of my beautiful brother,” Walker Jr. said of Gordon’s death in the statement. “He leaves a void in the hearts of my family and his friends. Nick’s battle in life was not an easy one."

The death comes four years after the death of Brown, the daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. Gordon, accused of physically abusing Brown, was ordered in 2016 by a judge to pay her family $36 million in connection with her death.

Brown died at 22 following a half-year in a coma. She was found unresponsive and with drugs in her system in 2015 in a bathtub at the suburban Atlanta home she shared with Gordon.

The following year, Gordon was found liable in her death and was ordered to pay $36 million to Brown’s estate.

In the ensuing years, Gordon was charged with domestic violence, but the case was dropped when his girlfriend retracted her claims.

Whitney Houston died on Feb. 11, 2012 at age 48. In an eerie foreshadowing on Bobbi Kristina’s fate, she was found unresponsive in a bathtub. The cause of death for the superstar singer was drowning due to coronary artery disease and cocaine intoxication.
