(IBEXNews) - Former Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant was killed Sunday in a helicopter crash in Southern California, according to TMZ.

The crash occurred around 10 a.m. in foggy conditions above Calabasas, the Los Angeles Times reported.

According to reports, everyone aboard the helicopter, five in total, were killed.

The crash ignited a brush fire, making it more difficult for firefighters and emergency personnel to get to the crash site.

Bryant is survived by his wife Vanessa, and their four daughters -- Gianna, Natalia and Bianca and their newborn Capri. No other information about the victims’ identities was available.
