Seattle police officer Randal Woolery

(IBEXNews) - A Seattle police captain was arrested Wednesday after soliciting sex from an undercover officer in an area rife with hookers, according to KIRO-7 news in Washington.

The john is identified as Randal Woolery, a 31-year police veteran who reportedly forked over $40 to a streetwalker while cruising north Seattle along Aurora Ave. He was apprehended on the spot.

Woolery, 53, is said to have known that stings were taking place in the area, where prostitution is rampant. His colleagues are puzzled by his judgement, the report said.

In 2017, Seattle cops set up a string of fake happy ending massage parlors, then arrested dozens of men who came in looking for a rubdown in the neighborhood where Woolery was arrested this week, along with four other men.

Woolery works in the police department’s professional standards bureau, where he is regarded as an officer of high integrity.

He is on administrative leave and facing misdemeanor charges, according to a statement from the Seattle Police Department. That statement does not mention Woolery by name, but KIRO-7 cites “several sources” in confirming his identity.
