(IBexNews) - A Minnesota motorist got into the racing spirit during a visit to Indiana where he hit speeds of up to 120 mph, according to police in the Hoosier State.
State troopers say Musab Alhussein, 25, was 50 mph over the speed limit when they clocked his red mustang flying down an Indiana Toll Road at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday. When they gave chase, the Minneapolis man turned off his lights and continued driving 100 mph, at times eluding spiked strips cops laid on the road to deflate his tires.
After a nearly 25-mile pursuit, another set of strips successfully took the air out of the driver’s tires and brought him to a “controlled stop.”
“Alhussein told troopers he did not stop because he thought the troopers wanted to race,” the report said.
He was jailed near South Bend, Ind., and charged with multiple violations including resisting law enforcement and reckless driving.
