(IBEXNews) - Two members of the Insane Crip Gangsters were indicted on charges of coercing a woman into prostitution over the course of 5 years, federal prosecutors said Friday.

Brothers Gladimir and Ronald Thomas threatened a single mom into prostitution, plying her with drugs and alcohol and depriving her of food and sleep to ensure she followed orders, according to U.S. Attorney Richard Donoghue.

The men, who tattooed their names on the victim’s body, managed and promoted the prostitution business online from 2014-2018 and reaped the profits, according to charges filed Friday in Brooklyn federal court.

“Over a period of years the defendants forced a woman to prostitute herself, while they enriched themselves at her expense,” Donoghue said. “This Office will continue to work with the FBI and our local law enforcement partners to put an end to the criminal acts of those who seek to profit from sexual slavery.”

Both brothers are members of the Insane Crip Gangsters sect of the Crips gang, and have lengthy rap sheets.

Gladimir, 31, was arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in December. After officers found marijuana and pills, Thomas allegedly fought with and injured one of the cops while swallowing a bag of pills. He was also convicted of assault in 2007 for a fight in which he was shot in the mouth and lost a front tooth.

Ronald, 27, is currently facing three charges stemming from an alleged armed robbery, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors released multiple photos of the brothers with guns and drugs as part of the indictment.

Lawyers asked for the Thomases to be held without bail, citing the flight risk and severity of the crime.

If they’re convicted of sex trafficking, the Thomas brothers face a minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of a lifetime sentence.
