(IBEXNews) – Greenland has no known cases of coronavirus now that the 11 citizens of the 57,000 nation who’d tested positive for the infection have recovered.

The deadly pandemic has not claimed a single life among the scattered Danish territory’s populous, where all known infections were in the capital city of Nuuk.

Nuuk has been completely closed off, according to the EU Observer, which reports that entry to all of Greenland has become nearly impossible to access. Its 72 towns remain under an indefinite lockdown as medical professionals fear an outbreak could overwhelm the island’s health care system.

“The main problem is that the health systems are not geared for such a challenge,” Danish medical epidemiologist Anders Koch told the EU Observer.

He said that the 75% of the population that lives outside of Nuuk would have to be brought to the capital city if they needed to be treated with a ventilator. They could also make the 2,200 mile flight to Denmark. Greenlanders are Danish citizens and would be covered by its health care program.

President Trump expressed interest in purchasing Greenland in August, though neither Denmark nor Greenland officials appeared to take that real estate deal seriously.

The U.S. has struggled to contain the coronavirus pandemic, which has infected 454,304 Americans and killed more than 16,000.
