Palm Reader Charged Mom $70K to ‘Banish the Spirit From Her Daughter’
Tracey Milanovich, the proprietor of Tracy’s (sic) Psychic Palm Reader in the southeast Mass. town of Somerset, was indicted this week for the alleged scam police began investigating in Dec. 17, according to the Somerset Police Department. She was arrested Dec. 27.
(IBEXNews) - A Massachusetts mom paid a palm reader more than $70,000 after the mystic convinced the woman her 10-year-old daughter was possessed.
Tracey Milanovich, the proprietor of Tracy’s (sic) Psychic Palm Reader in the town of Somerset, was indicted this week for the alleged scam police began investigating in Dec. 17, according to the Somerset Police Department. She was arrested Dec. 27.
“Milanovich convinced the victim that her daughter was possessed by a demon, and that cash and household items were needed in order to banish the spirit from her daughter,” cops said in a statement.
She reportedly conned the worried mom out of $71,000 as well as towels and bedding.
The 37-year-old palm reader is reportedly being charged with larceny, obtaining property by trick and witness intimidation. Authorities are asking that anyone else who feels they may have been scammed by Milanovich to report their encounter.
The alleged victim started visiting with Milanovich on Nov. 15 at which time the woman was told that not only did her daughter have “something inside her that was bad,” but also, she too was “dead in God’s eyes," according to the Herald News.
Among the services reportedly provided by Milanovich in the month leading to her arrest was the lighting of candles, for which she charged $1,000 cash. She also convinced the alleged victim a payment of $6,058 was needed to buy back both her own soul and her daughter’s too.
Milanovich allegedly told the victim she could transfer her daughter’s demon into a Barbie doll.
